Weight Control Yoga

One of the many benefits of a regular yoga practice is weight management. Even a gentle yoga practice helps reduce stress that not only stimulates eating but also tends to deposit fat around the middle.
Yoga enhances body awareness so we can distinguish between healthy hunger and other sensations that might lead us to eat for comfort, when we’re not really hungry. Yoga teaches us to move and act from a calmer, more focused awareness where we can establish a balanced approach to eating and exercise.
Kit, a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Hypnotherapist, will lead you through a physical yoga practice, followed by relaxation and a guided weight control meditation.

Is Savasana (the resting pose at the end of class) your favorite pose? It’s truly the most important pose as it allows the mind and body to be deeply present. Deep rest is an essential counterbalance to the stress of daily living. Deep rest rejuvenates every cell and every organ of your body. In this class, you will learn yoga poses propped up on bolsters, blankets and pillows, to invite your body to relax more deeply than you ever imagined. Kit will also lead guided meditations and offer a short group hypnosis session for deep relaxation.
